Program Overview
Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is poised to be an important breakthrough in the treatment of mental illness in this generation. Regulations and guidelines for psychedelic therapy are being implemented, drafted and discussed globally and the momentum is gaining speed.
This ATMA training program will provide comprehensive knowledge, skills and attitudes required to provide effective and ethical psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Candidates for this course will be practitioners ranging from physicians to psychiatrists to therapists and wholistic therapy providers, who possess a passion for the field of psychedelic therapy and have an interest in developing a pathway to practice in this area.
The program features evidence-based knowledge and teachings from multiple perspectives with a strong emphasis on safe and ethical practice. This training course will prepare students to be able to confidently answer client/patient questions about psychedelic assisted therapy, lead discussions in this new field as well as begin to explore some legal avenues to offer the therapy.

As regulatory approvals are achieved, the demand for quality training programs will quickly exceed the supply. Health Canada has approved psilocybin-assisted therapy for end of life as well as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and MDMA-assisted therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through the Special Access Program (SAP). Oregon currently is in the process of licensing psilocybin facilitation centers, and Colorado will follow in 2024. Alberta professional bodies releasing draft practice standards and Australia announcing legalization of MDMA and psilocybin for mental health treatments. We expect that the global momentum towards regulated psychedelic therapy will greatly increase in the next 12-24 months, where thousands of practitioners will be seeking training.
By completing your psychedelic-assisted therapy training now, and by staying up-to-date with the latest research, properly trained practitioners will be in the unique position to offer psychedelic-assisted therapy ethically and competently offer this therapy within regulations coming into effect incrementally. Beat the rush and avoid waitlists by training now.
